Many kūpuna find that aging at home can become increasingly difficult. Transportation becomes a challenge. Technology feels overwhelming. Friends move away or pass on. Sometimes the greatest challenge isn’t a lack of help — it’s a lack of connection.
Mālama Village was created to address exactly these concerns. Members connect through a robust calendar of social gatherings and events. Both members and community volunteers offer assistance with transportation, technology support and practical help at home. Some members receive help. Others offer help. Most do both.
Aging brings challenges, but rather than focus on what we lose as we age, Mālama Village focuses on what we have to offer one another. Each member brings a lifetime of experience, wisdom, talents and gifts to the community. Come discover how a village works — and how it might enhance your life, because aging in place doesn’t have to mean aging alone.
Learn more at one of Mālama Village’s upcoming orientation sessions. Sessions take place every third Tuesday of each month from 3:30 to 4:15pm.
