Palolo Chinese Home—renowned for providing memory care among its senior services, with comprehensive protocols in place for elopement prevention—will host a special Community Education Session and Family Council Meeting featuring special guests from Alzheimer’s Association-Hawaii.
Exploring “Effective Communications Strategies” through an educational program from the Alzheimer’s Association, families can find new ways to connect at this free event. Attendees will learn how best to interpret verbal and behavioral communication from loved ones living with Alzheimer’s or other dementias, who often lose the ability to use words as the disease progresses.
Palolo Chinese Home Managers will be on hand to share insights into additional resources for kupuna and caregivers. Among them, Palolo Chinese Home’s Senior Day Care program, which also serves those with memory care needs. The program provides enriching stimulation and socialization for seniors, while offering respite and support for family caregivers.
Guests planning to join the event in person are invited to enjoy refreshments, including Palolo Chinese Home’s famous stew! For those unable to participate in person, attendees may alternatively join the event via Zoom.
