Caregiver Stress and Wellness

March 3, 2023

The Caregiver Foundation is delighted to present Caregiver Stress and Wellness - a virtual study series.

Imagine walking out of your home and seeing a bear! Feeling stressed just thinking about it? Good! These bursts of stress help keep us alive, active, and motivated. The stress of caregiving and modern life doesn't happen in short bursts like with a bear sighting. Caregiving stress is persistent and can damage our mental and physical health.

In this three-part miniseries, clinical psychologist Dr. Hillary Powell explains how caregivers come to experience unique stressors that aren’t easily overcome by simple self-care. Dr. Powell talks about how to identify signs of burnout, and offers tools from the mental health field for combatting common negative thoughts and feelings experienced by caregivers.
