35th Annual Talk Story Festival

October 13, 2023

Spectators of all ages are invited to an evening of storytelling as our annual Talk Story Festival celebrates its 35th year on Friday the 13th!

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, the Mission Memorial Auditorium near Honolulu Hale will host a frighteningly good array of storytellers, sharing a variety of tales with spooky and historical undertones.

Additional details about the event, including a lineup of the presenters, will be available on the event’s dedicated website as the festival nears: bit.ly/TalkStoryFest

As Hawai‘i’s oldest and largest storytelling celebration, this festival aims to perpetuate the Native Hawaiian tradition of passing knowledge through storytelling.  In its 35 years of existence, the festival has been presented in many locations and adapted to the times, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the storytelling sessions from the 32nd and 33rd Annual Talk Story Festivals remain available to everyone around the world through our DPR social media platforms.
