Generations Magazine was originally started in 2006 by Trade Publishing’s Kini Popo. His vision was that the magazine would be dedicated solely to our senior marketplace.
In 3-plus years, Generations gained loyal readers who loved the magazine. Yet, with the downturn in the economy, like many companies in Hawaii, Generations took a break in 2009.
In 2010, Percy Ihara, a seasoned mortgage professional dedicated to working with seniors and their families, took over the reigns of Generations Magazine to become the current publisher/editor.
The rebirth of Generations began with its first issue in September 2010, featuring KHON2 news anchor Kirk Matthews. The magazine made its debut at Honolulu's annual Senior Fair.
Percy Ihara’s tagline and goal is simple, to be “Hawaii’s Resource for Life.” Generations Magazine provides our seniors and their families with information on various issues facing our mature community.
Our readers benefit from all sorts of information, ranging from healthcare, finances, legal matters and caregiving topics ... just to name a few areas of interest.
We want to hear from you, our readers and supporters. Continue to send your comments, pictures and events to us so we can share them with our other readers.
Lastly, we will continue to provide resourceful and valuable information via our magazine, workshops, Web site and Generations Radio program starting October 25th and every Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8 p.m. on AM 1270 KNDI.
